Task Outline:  
These tasks involves looking at and investigating the attributes that are valued by employees. If you understand what an employee is looking for in an employee, you will stand a better chance of a successful job search. You will also start to investigate and use practical tools to help you organise your tasks and plan for them.
   
Objectives:  

1. To focus on valued attributes of employees.
2. To investigate job related attributes, such as Technical Knowledge and working procedures.
3. To investigate universal attributes such as planning and organisational skills, time management, team working, verbal and written communication skills, numeric skills and creativity.

   
Learning Outcomes:  

1. You will understand the job related attributes that employers value.
2. You will understand the universal attributes that are valued by employers

   
What you need to do:  
  1. Firstly, open up your PDP and then read the tasks that you need to complete below. Make your first entries into your PDP paying particular attention to any areas where you feel you need to gain any neccessary knowlege or skills.
  2. Page 4 - Lawson: Read the page and complete activity 1.1
  3. Page 5 - Lawson: Read the page. Using your word processor, describe the last time you made a plan to complete a task (at home, school or elswhere).
  4. Imagine you are organising a visit to a theme park with your friends. The friends live all over your home town and the theme park is about 50 miles away. Write-up a plan that will organise the event. You will all need to be back in your home town for about 10 pm.
  5. Use your mobile phone's calendar / alarm facility to enter you ICT timetable for the year. Make sure you set alarms to remind you of the lessons.
  6. Find your school email calendar. Enter your ICT timetable into the calendar using recuring events to remind you of your lessons each week.
  7. Page 7- Lawson: Read the page. Complete activity 1.2

2. Access to the internet
3 PDP template
4. Your mobile phone
5. Your own personal PDP
6. Your school email calendar
 
Homework: enter this homework as an alarm / reminder in your mobile phone. All the above tasks must be completed for next lesson so that they can be reviewed and discussed.
